Walter Newman Plaut Jr.

December 1, 1947 - December 3, 2014

Walter was a very energetic, kind, and pleasant companion. Walter possessed a unique lively personality and was always optimistic. Walter was a great role model and inspired a lot of the crew members. Walter started his career as an Emergency Medical Technician. He fulfilled a vision of his and obtained his Paramedic license. He served dutifully with Downeast EMS for eleven years. He took a great deal of pride in everything that he did. He was always available to lend a hand on or off duty. He would always check in on the crew days he wasn’t scheduled and inform everybody he was available to help out if the need arises. He taught us what he knew about emergency medicine and valuable life lessons. It was a daily tradition when he was working at the Lubec base to go out for a walk with the crew. While on the walk he always had something to teach us. Unfortunately; Walter left us unexpectedly, tragically, and all too soon. We will always miss him dearly and we’re thankful for the memories and lessons that will be cherished and forever be in our hearts.
