Our Providers

Ambulance Driver

All drivers are certified with the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR. They also have completed an Ambulance Vehicle Operators Course (AVOC). They are familiarized with all of the ambulance equipment and operations.

Advanced EMT (formerly EMT-Intermediate)

AEMTs are able to perform all the skills of an EMT, they are also trained in IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, advanced airway management and they are able to administer a limited amount of medications. During the Advanced EMT class it includes clinical experience in multiple locations of a hospital and time with an ambulance service. The AEMT class constitutes of 150 hours and 150 hours of clinical time.

EMT (Formerly EMT-Basic)

All Emergency Medical Technicians are able to practice in patient assessment, basic airway management, CPR, the use of an automated external defibrillator, oxygen delivery, hemorrhage control, splinting, spinal immobilization, childbirth, lifting and moving patients, and extrication. During the EMT-Basic class, it includes clinical experience in a hospital emergency department and time with an ambulance service. The EMT class constitutes of 117 hours and 16 hours of clinical time.

Paramedic

Paramedics are able to perform all the skills of an EMT and an AEMT. Paramedics can also perform chest decompressions, use of electrocardiogram machines, transcutaneous cardiac pacing, and team cardiac resuscitation efforts. Additional skills include pharmacological medication administration, surgical cricothyrotomy, and differential diagnosing. Paramedics have an extensive knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of disease process. Paramedics are also licensed in advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. The Paramedic class consists of clinical experience in multiple locations of a hospital and time with an ambulance service. The Paramedic class constitutes of 500 hours and 500 hours of clinical time.

 

All licensed providers are required to obtain continuing education hours annually in order to be able to relicense with the state.
